Rent Movies Online

My wife and I have been long time Satellite TV customers. On a given month we spend between $25-50 on pay-per view movies on top of our regular monthly bill. We began searching for cheaper ways to watch new movies without paying the expensive ticket costs at the theaters or having to keep paying $3.99 or $4.99 a pay-per-view movie. Our neighbors recommended Netflix for its set low-price, unlimited rentals, great selection, quick delivery right to my front door and we can get movies online.

Members develop an updatable queue or list of movies online. When you send a movie back, the next movie in your online movie queue is sent almost immediately. There's no late fees, you can keep the DVDs for as long as you want, but you won't get the next one until you return one. The DVDs come in pre-paid mailing envelopes which makes it super easy to just seal and drop it in the mail.

With approximately 35 shipping centers across the United States Netflix offers the fastest shipping times around, giving its customers more movies for less money. I usually have a new movie within 3 days of returning one but this may vary depending on where you live.

For the $16.99 plan (unlimited rentals, three movies at a time), we were able to rent and watch dozens of separate movie titles during a single month. We could also watch an unlimited number of movies downloaded online right on our computer.

Netflix has a gigantic movie selection topping 85,000 individual titles; these are separated into 21 different genres including new releases, comedies, thrillers, indies and television. However, you may only sign up for Netflix if you are 18 or older, as the Netflix does offer a few adult genres. Netflix also rents high definition Blu-Ray discs at an additional $1.00 fee on top of the monthly plan. Which is also a great savings compared to pay-per-view pricings or the price to buy new Blu-Ray titles.

Netflix now offers a small collection of titles to download onto your computer. Most are older titles. All the "unlimited" rental plans (plans that don't restrict how many movies you can rent in the mail per month,) allow you to stream as many movies in their online library as you'd like. The $4.99 plan only allots you two hours instantly on your computer.

One of many great features offered through Netflix is the helpful movie data they offer online. For example, when you search for an actor or a director, the site provides you with a photo, a brief bio and career information. There's also a list of all the movies that person has been involved with available for rent through Netflix.

Netflix boasts plenty of methods to search for movies, including searches by title, actor, director, studio, genre, decade, new releases and by critic and customer recommendation. You can also search by awards movies have received.

Movie browsers don't have to click back and forth to find out information about a particular movie. Moving the mouse over a movie image will bring up a temporary text box with the synopsis, main actors, director, genre and rating. Clicking on the movie title provides the same information plus awards and an explanation for the movie's rating.

Netflix may not provide as detailed information as Blockbuster, but it is enough to make choosing movies online fast and easy.

You can rate each movie you rent or have already seen and read reviews written by other customers and professional movie critics. The more movies you rate, the more movies they will recommend you check out that may match your preferences.

With approximately 35 shipping centers throughout the US and more planned to come, Netflix offers shorter shipping times than any other online DVD rental service—taking an average of around a day to reach you once they've shipped out. These shorter shipping times allow you to get more value, giving you the ability to rent more DVDs within a shorter time period.

Netflix goes beyond the competition with an enormous DVD selection, excellent customer service and the fastest arrival time around. So if you're looking for an online DVD rental service that can meet all of your DVD rental needs, try the Netflix free trial and see what the best DVD service is like.

Just Watched "Iron Man"

So I watched "Iron Man" this weekend on Blu-Ray disc. Awesome movie! 5 stars. This was action-packed with some really cool visuals. I cannot wait until the sequel as this left me wanting so much more. Robert Downey Jr. stars as Tony Sparks, aka Iron Man, and he was great and funny in this film. Gwyneth Paltrow plays his assistant, Pepper Potts, and I thought she was cute and very good in this role. Overall, Jon Favreau directed a wonderful action movie based on the Marvil comic book series. I look forward to more Iron Man to come. Check this movie out now!
